Storybook Favorites

The first Storybook I looked at was titled The PrinceDiaries. What I thought would be similar to the popular movie, The Princess Diaries, this story’s introduction was very funny and interesting. The author starts the novel off acting like the story will be based on a princess and then restates that instead, it’s a bout two princes who are very different. This story won’t be like most fairytales. Instead, the author will take the reader through the lives of two princes. One prince is in love with a prince, but her father the king does not approve while the other prince has absolutely no charm. The author really grabs the reader’s attention with the creative writing style.

For my second Storybook, I chose to read That’s The HolidaySpirit. I chose to read this because I love holiday seasons, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas! Luckily, this story was about both of those holidays, plus Valentine’s Day. The book breaks down each holiday and describes how they are celebrated and their history in the world. The author calls Christmas the holiday of joy, Thanksgiving the holiday of thanks and Valentine’s the holiday of love. I’m interested to keep reading this story and learn more about each holiday and the unknown secrets of hot they were formed.

Finally, I read a Storybook by Sarah Sandel titled TheTrickster of OU. I was first interested in this story because it was about OU and the design was colored in crimson and cream, so it was a must read! Sandel does a good job of building the story in her introduction and leaves the reader wanting to carry on with the book. In the story, an OU student pranks the university in various ways and challenges OU police to catch him. His quest is to leave a new and different kind of legacy at OU.

Each of the books are a fun read and show a lot of creativity!

  1. The Prince Diaries! Of course! This reminds me of those articles in Cosmo: 'What Does Your Man Really Think?' Fairytale(ish) stories from a guys perspective is just the fresh, new approach that the Disney-loving girls need. It would make a good read.
